The first issue of the Journal “Medical Doctor and Information Technology” was released in 2004. Since then the Journal has become one of the best Russian journals in the field, covering major research trends attributed to implementation of modern programs and telecommunications infrastructure in healthcare.

In 2005 Editorial team of the Journal initiated creation of Medical Informatics Association. In 2015 the Journal was listed in Russian Sciеnce Citation Index (RSCI) of Web of Science among other leading Russian journals.
