Abstract
Medical institutions and clinics accumulate a significant amounts of data that can and should be used in planning clinical and operational activities. There are intuitive connections between influencing factors and target KPIs that cannot be described by functional dependencies. Such conditions give rise to a wide range of tasks that can be addressed using machine learning and artificial intelligence methods. This article examines the task of predicting blood loss during the surgical treatment of endocrine system disorders. Machine learning methods based on decision trees are used to estimate blood loss. The data for the study were provided by one of the world’s leading clinics of endocrine surgery from St. Petersburg.
